The southern provinces of Uruguay stretch all the way to the Rio de la Plata. The land is wide and flat and characterized by agriculture. Fields in between fields, eventually a house appears. The doors of buildings and cars are rarely kept locked by their owners.
On weekends, many are drawn to the rodeos in the respective region, which, along with some markets and bars, serve as places of social encounters and exuberant atmosphere.
